Boulder EV chargers near coffee and restrooms
Last updated October 24, 2026
Boulder has two different charging problems, and they are easy to mix up
because both of them are near a street with "Pearl" or "29th" in the name.
Twenty Ninth Street is a shopping district with fast chargers, restaurants,
and restrooms inside the mall buildings. The Pearl Street Mall, the
pedestrian blocks downtown, has a handful of small ChargePoint posts and
the coffee shops people actually came to Boulder for. One of those is a
20-to-40-minute highway stop. The other is an hour or two on a slow plug,
if you can find an open space at all.
East Pearl is a third place. Whole Foods at 2905 Pearl Street is a grocery
with coffee and a restroom, and it is not a short walk from the bricks of
the downtown mall. The mall people mean is roughly 11th to 15th Street.
29th Street is a mile-plus east. Plan the stop you mean.
How to read this list
Names, addresses, networks, and charging-position counts come from the
EVEats catalog, checked on October 24, 2026. The catalog is built from the
U.S. Department of Energy Alternative Fuels Data Center. A charging
position is the sum of Level 1, Level 2, and DC fast ports reported for
that site, so the number alone does not tell you the plug is fast.
Read the station name. Supercharger means Tesla DC fast
charging. Tesla Destination means Level 2, the kind of
plug you use for a long meal or an overnight stay. Electrify America sites
in these guides are that network's DC fast stations. The catalog does not
show live availability, kilowatts, price, or whether your car can connect
without an adapter. Check the network's own app before you leave the
highway. Store and restaurant hours change, and a restroom inside a
business is only available while that business is open.
As of October 24, 2026, these stops had no approved driver note in EVEats
unless a note is quoted on the page. A specific note about food or a
restroom is more useful to the next driver than another copy of the address.
Fast charging at Twenty Ninth Street
Supercharger at 1710 29th Street
Tesla · 10 charging positions · 1710 29th Street, Boulder, CO 80301
Ten Supercharger positions at the Twenty Ninth Street address are the high-capacity fast stop in town. The mall around them is an open-air district: restaurants, coffee, and restrooms inside the businesses during their hours. This is the Boulder stop that matches a highway clock. You can eat something you can finish and be back at the car without committing to a downtown wander. On a weekend the district is busy on foot, which is a reason to set a timer, not a reason to skip it.

Electrify America at the mall
Electrify America · 4 charging positions · 1776 29th St, Boulder, CO 80301
The catalog lists this as the Macerich Twenty Ninth Street mall. It is the same district as the Supercharger, at a different address, with four Electrify America positions. If you do not have a Tesla plug, or the Supercharger row is full and your car can use this network, this is the other fast option in the same place to eat. Do not treat the two pins as two meals in two neighborhoods. They are one shopping district with two networks. There is also an EVgo record at 1710 29th Street with only two positions. Same mall, smaller row. Check which network your car can actually start before you pick a door.

Supercharger at 3100 28th Street
Tesla · 8 charging positions · 3100 28th St, Boulder, CO 80301
The station name calls this the 28th Street Supercharger. Eight positions, a few blocks from the Twenty Ninth Street shops, on the commercial strip that runs up 28th. Use the pin. The businesses immediately beside these stalls are not the same doors as the mall entrance at 1710 29th, even though you can drive between them in a couple of minutes. If you want the densest cluster of coffee and restrooms, prefer the mall addresses and treat 28th Street as the overflow fast site when the mall row is full.

Coffee, a restroom, and a slower plug
Whole Foods on east Pearl Street
EVgo · 2 charging positions · 2905 Pearl St, Boulder, CO 80301
Two EVgo positions at Whole Foods are a grocery stop: coffee, prepared food, and a restroom inside the store while it is open. The catalog also has a separate independent listing at the same address with two positions, so you may see more than one pin on the building. Two stalls is not a plan you should bet a low battery on. It is a good stop when you were going to the store anyway. It is a bad stop to send someone who needs a fast, high-capacity site. That person wants 29th Street.

ChargePoint at 1500 Pearl Street
ChargePoint · 2 charging positions · 1500 Pearl St, Boulder, CO 80302
1500 Pearl is on the downtown mall. The catalog shows a municipal ChargePoint pair here (and other one- and two-position ChargePoint records in the same garage and at the county buildings on the 1300 block). Two positions, Level 2 in character even though the catalog does not print kilowatts, means you are parking to walk. Coffee and restrooms are the businesses on the mall itself, not a facility at the plug. On a Saturday those two spaces are a hope, not a reservation. If the battery is the emergency, skip downtown and use Twenty Ninth Street. If the walk is the point, this is the right kind of charger and you should expect to stay a while.

Avery Brewing, Gunbarrel
Tesla Destination · 7 charging positions · 4910 Nautilus Ct N, Boulder, CO 80301
The name says Tesla Destination, so this is Level 2, and the host is the brewery in Gunbarrel, north of downtown, not a stall on Pearl Street. Seven positions is a lot for a destination site. The way to use them is to stay for the taproom: food and restrooms inside while Avery is open, and a charge that matches a long meal rather than a highway top-up. Do not detour up to Gunbarrel expecting a 20-minute fast session. The fast sessions are back at 28th and 29th.

Coming from Denver
US-36 is the usual drive. The fast food-and-restroom stops before you reach
Boulder are the Target and Supercharger on Marshall Road in Superior, and
Flatiron Crossing in Broomfield. Those are written up in the
US-36 guide.
If Twenty Ninth Street is full when you arrive, going back to Superior is
often more realistic than circling the downtown garages.
